…and the balm and the scrub. We use the time-honored method of cold process soap-making and quality ingredients, blended with modern techniques and aesthetics, to create unique products steeped in tradition.

We’ve tested a lot of handmade soap, and thought long and hard about what makes it great. We’ve put in extensive work to formulate products that strike a balance between crunchy and competent, sudsy and sustenant. We’re revelers with reverence.

Dive Bar Soap Company® crafts everything in small batches from our workshop in Oak Park, IL. To achieve optimal performance, our soaps age a minimum of four to six weeks, making every bar worth your patience.

Our soapbox

We believe in good, clean fun that also does good.

We vow to offer vegetarian-friendly products with:

• NO palm oil

• NO phthalates

• NO sulfates (SLS, SLES)

• NO parabens

We’re proud of our Buy One, Give One program. For every soap bar you purchase, we donate a bar of our confetti soap to a local shelter.

Additionally, we’re members of the Eco Soap Bank #ScrapPack, a club that donates funds and contributes soap scraps for rebatching. Eco-Soap Bank employs women throughout Africa and Asia to recycle soap scrap. In turn, the rebatched bars are donated to children across 25 countries accompanied by hygiene education.

Living clean

Dive Bar Soap Company’s founder, Laurette Anderson, didn’t start out as a soaper, but many of our soaps are drawn from her past. Originally from culinary roots, Laurette frequently looks to food, cocktails, rock-n-roll and sailor-worthy banter for inspiration.

Turns out, soaping is not that far removed from the kitchen. Now, Laurette uses recipes, and all her kitchen gadgets and gizmos, on the sudsy creations you’ll find at Dive Bar.

Her team also includes her hubby and two little kids. While life requires a lot more soap, the grownups are a little more “clean” these days.
